2007 Gears and Cheers

Now here’s an event I can get into: a supported ride from a winery (owned by the family of a cycling student of mine) culminating in a picnic lunch and a glass of wine! (The flyer cleverly bills it as “the only bike ride where wining is allowed!”) Instead of yet another T-shirt, participants will take home a commemorative wine glass.

The date: Saturday, May 19, 2007
The time: 8 a.m. check-in; 9 a.m. ride
The place: Grove Winery, 55 minutes’ drive from Chapel Hill (it’s in Guilford County, NW of Elon)
The ride: Fully supported 25- or 40-mile loops
The cause: National Multiple Sclerosis Society (this’d be a great training ride for those considering the MS 150 in September)

Register at the Grove Winery Web site.

I plan to be there, testing the legs two weeks after the White Lake Half. Might even be able to talk Banjo into this ride!
