(Ironic) Diet Tip

An easy way to self-sabotage your sweet tooth: burn your tongue with coffee. I seem to have done just that by sipping from a plastic-lidded cup in the Denver airport before dawn yesterday, and even the bag of peanut M&Ms I impulsively bought as a post–photo shoot treat (after treating myself to a huge ice cream cone just the day before) was unsatisfying. I must have destroyed the appropriate tastebuds, because nothing tastes sweet today: jelly beans, chocolate chip cookies, and dried cherries have all failed the test.

I may be on to something here.
