The Stockbridge Bowl seen from Kripalu in winter

Since 2009, I’ve been leading workshops for athletes (and everyone!) at the beautiful Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts. As I’ve done for the last several years, I’ll start with a weekend workshop January 20–22, Yoga for Athletes: Strength, Flexibility, and Focus, designed for practitioners of all sports and all levels. We’ve had athletes from 12 to over 70 in this class, as well as those who wouldn’t identify as athletes but who came with a friend or family member. It’s always a lovely time.

Kripalu TYA 2013That weekend is followed by a five-day intensive, January 22–27, Teaching Yoga to Athletes. This is always also a lovely time—super collegial and very productive. Teachers, coaches, and trainers go home with an action plan and steps to follow immediately, and when we check in at three months and later, it’s a treat to hear that the intensive got them rolling on a helpful career. If you are able to do both, it’s a great mix of practice and theory, and there’s a discount for doing the two back-to-back.

Winter at Kripalu is so beautiful. With luck, you can walk on the iced-over lake. And there’s always great company for runs, Noon Dance, and chatting over tea (now, coffee!) and cookies.
