Listen: “Meet the Moment,” Wanderlust Speakeasy

I also taught yoga nidra—Wes helped me set up.

In 2015, I gave a talk at Wanderlust Snowshoe in the Speakeasy—the festival’s version of a TED Talk. I was so nervous! While I’m no stranger to public speaking, this was next-level stress. Instead of the yoga or meditation teaching I’m used to doing, I was talking philosophically about lessons I’ve learned in life. The talk was recorded in front of a live audience. Wes was there with me and was a wonderful grounding force in the hours leading up to the talk. I remember losing my appetite a full 24 hours beforehand—these butterflies were worse than any prerace jitters I’ve ever had.

Now you can hear the results on the Wanderlust Speakeasy podcast. I talk about how goals and intentions help you in any situation. This is the thesis of my book on mindful racing, Racing Wisely, and it also applies to any situation—I include yoga and life examples in the talk. Search for “Wanderlust Speakeasy” in your favorite podcasting app, or listen here.
