Turtle Alert

Chapel Hill News | News: “Police responded Tuesday to a call of a suspicious turtle at an apartment complex.
About 10 a.m. Tuesday, an officer went to 601 Jones Ferry Road, building A, after a resident called to say he ‘was concerned that a turtle had climbed the bank near his apartment building,’ according to a police report.
‘When I arrived, it appeared as though the alligator snapping turtle was attempting to lay eggs. I informed (the caller) that the turtle appeared healthy and the best intervention was none at all. He informed me that he would call if the turtle was still in the area 24 hours later,’ the report states.”
