I look forward to working with you live and in person, at my home studio—or at yours.

I’ve taught all around North America and Europe. My hosts include:

  • the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (over ten years in a row)
  • YogaWorks in New York and Boston
  • Yoga Tree in San Francisco
  • REI and MEC stores all over North America
  • many community studios across the United States

My home base is the Carrboro Yoga Company, in Carrboro/Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We are about a 20-minute taxi ride from the Raleigh/Durham airport (code RDU).

200-hour yoga teacher training

I am the director of the Carolina Yoga Company’s teacher trainings. I personally led our 200-hour yoga teacher training for 10 years, graduating hundreds of yoga teachers.

The leaders of the Carolina Yoga Company 200-hour yoga teacher training. L–R: Sage Rountree, Alexandra DeSiato, Lies Sapp, Alexis Besosa

The program is now expertly led by master educator Alexandra DeSiato (second from left here), my frequent collaborator and coauthor of the best seller Teaching Yoga Beyond the Poses and Lifelong Yoga. My business partner Lies Sapp (third from left) cocreated the program with me, and our studio manager Alexis Besosa (at right) teaches anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology in the training.

500-hour yoga teacher training

Enrollment for Carolina Yoga Company’s 500-hour yoga teacher training will soon reopen! (Technically, it’s a 300-hour program, that along with our 200 or any 200-hour yoga teacher training equals 500 hours.)

Add your email address here to be the first to know when enrollment reopens in December 2024.

Monday nights in Carrboro

I’ve taught the same Monday evening class for over twenty years. Join us when you’re in town!

Yoga for Athletic Balance runs 6–7 p.m. You’ll find a broad range of students alongside you, from 20-year-old running backs to 75-year-old dancers.

I’d love to talk about visiting you at your home base!

let me plan your next class

Feeling uninspired when it’s time to plan? I’m here to help!

Give me your email and I’ll send you my go-to class plan with ideas for every minute. This is the class I teach when my energy is low—but it’s the favorite of my students from 20 to 80 years old! I’ll even give you tips on how to adapt it for various class formats.
