Meet Beth Marek! Beth is the most recently certified teacher to graduate from my Teaching Yoga to Athletes course. She lives in El Paso, Texas, where she works as a climbing guide and yoga teacher. Beth came to yoga as a runner—she ran at Davidson College, down the road from me in North Carolina. Like many runners, she found the practice while sidelined with an injury.
Beth has not one, but two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings under her belt, as well as a 300-hour training, and her dedication to learning shines. As is appropriate for a teacher trainer with Beth’s level of experience, she is a fabulous teacher: her cueing is clear, her demeanor is calm and welcoming, and her sequencing recognizes the needs of athletes for a class focused on balance, not on providing a workout.
